As some of you may know David Lister, Independent Financial Adviser at ML, is also the Chairman at the local Wymondham Rotary Satellite Group and the group were delighted to recently hand over the results of their latest fundraising efforts to a local charity.
Star Throwers is a cancer support charity based in Wymondham, Norfolk and is dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. Founded by an experienced cancer doctor, the team of passionate volunteers and professional staff give advice, support, counselling and complementary therapies to those in need, when they need it most.
From their recent round of fundraising the Satellite Rotary Group were delighted to hand over two cheques to Steven Ho and Tina Martins of Star Throwers;
£2059.40 – which is being used to help with the refurbishment of the Consultant’s Room creating a much better environment in which to treat the patients.
£1720.00 – which is being used to pay for a three-stage training course for 8 volunteers. This will result in a qualification that allows them to provide massage treatment to help hundreds of cancer patients over the forthcoming years.
